Police Crisis Clinician

Clinician Linda Allen

Please take a moment to welcome Clinician Linda Allen to our Police Department and community.  Linda's role, while embedded with our Police Department, is to assist with mental health–related calls. This role ensures that individuals experiencing behavioral health crises receive timely, compassionate, and appropriate care in the field. In her role, she will also educate officers and the community on mental health needs, as well as provide follow-up services for each individual encountered to ensure they are connected to the appropriate services.

She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master’s degree from Palo Alto University and a Bachelor of Science in Technical and Professional Writing from San Francisco State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family.

Linda uses a trauma-informed approach in her work. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, grounding techniques, and Bowen Family Systems Theory and more.

Before joining the department, Linda worked with foster youth and system-impacted individuals, both youth and adults, as well as provided family therapy. She has facilitated Domestic Violence classes, DUI education groups, and Dual Diagnosis treatment groups and more. Her experience allows her to respond effectively to complex situations in the community.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, her three dogs, watching basketball and her favorite football team, the Crimson Tide.
