Reporting a Crime Online
Report OnlineThank you for using our online crime and incident reporting system! This system may be used to make an online crime report, officer compliment report, or community complaint report. The online crime reporting section can only be used to report crimes that have occurred in the City of East Palo Alto. If the crime did not take place in East Palo Alto, you need to report it to the jurisdiction where it occurred.  If this is a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

After completing your online crime report you will receive a report number via email within ten working days. Do not call the Police Department to request your report number as this will delay the process. If you are not able to wait up to ten days to get the report number do not make your report via this system.

If you need help in determining what type of crime you are trying to report, you may call the Police Department at 650-853-3160 and they will advise you. If you need to come to the Police Department or prefer to make a report with a police officer, then you may come to the Police Department at the address on the right. The police desk is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are requesting information on an existing report or need copies, you will need to call the records section at 650-853-3160.

As with any police report, the information contained within the report is considered confidential and can only be released to those individuals who legally have a "right to know". Knowingly submitting a false crime report is a misdemeanor under the State Penal Code 148.5 PC (punishable by 6 months jail, $1,000 fine, or both!).
