Boards, Commissions, & Committees (BCCs)
Meet the BCCs...
These Advisory Bodies serve an important purpose in advising the City Council on matters or issues pertaining to their specific board, commission, or committee on how to best serve the constituents of East Palo Alto.

We currently have seven (7) Boards, Commissions, and Committees:

General Plan Advisory Committee            Measure C Oversight Committee
Planning Commission                                Public Works & Transportation Commission
Rent Stabilization Board                            Senior Advisory Committee
                                Westside Area Plan Advisory Committee

There are also opportunities to serve on other Boards such as City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG).  At the moment, there is 1 vacancy for a member of the public to serve on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). The deadline to apply is Friday, October 27, 2017.  To obtain more information or if you have any questions, please contact Sara Muse (650) 599-1460 or email .  This link will take you to their webpage:  http://ccag.ca.gov/opportunities/call-for-applicants/

How They Function....
  • The City Clerk's Office recruits residents to the BCCs and the City Council appoints them.
  • The City Attorney's Office provides legal counsel to the Advisory Bodies and their Staff Liaisons.
  • The Staff Liaisons are City employees, who coordinate agenda items, record minutes, and manage items for their meetings.
  • The BCCs meet at regularly scheduled times and the public is invited to come.
  • They have the responsibility of recommending or not recommending to Council issues that impact the City.
