City Council appointed East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Committee (EPAYAC) and East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Clubs (YAClub)
The East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Committee is separate from the City East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Clubs that meet on school sites. One is appointed by City Council and the latter are individual clubs which meets at a number of school sites which East Palo Alto teens attend:
City Council appointed East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Committee (EPAYAC)
The Youth Advisory Committee is formed to foster greater involvement of youth in municipal government, specifically to study any problems, activities and concerns of youth relating to municipal policies, programs or projects of the City of East Palo Alto. The Youth Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the City Council and to the Community Services Department on these issues and conducts forums to involve youth in the governmental decision-making process.

East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Clubs (YAClub)
The City of East Palo Alto values the ideas and opinions of its youth and under the direction of the Community Services Department launched a campaign that ‘The Magic of change is in YOUth’ in December of 2006. In keeping with that, fundamental principle we expanded the concept of the City Council appointed East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Council (EPAYAC) to include more youth participation in a new innovative format that draws from a greater diverse group of teens and young adults within the community to work with city council, school officials and youth agencies. This allows for more youth voices in having decision-making opportunities, which concern their wellbeing living in East Palo Alto; and that allows for socialization opportunities among their schools through service learning projects and local youth initiatives to create a sense of community among them.
The East Palo Alto Youth Advisory Clubs (YAClubs) is formed to foster greater involvement of youth in municipal government, specifically to resolve any problems, activities and concerns of youth relating to municipal policies, programs or projects of the City of East Palo Alto. The YAClub conducts forums to involve youth in the governmental decision-making process makes recommendations to the City Council and to the Community Services Department on these issues.
Number of YAClub Members:
YACLubs can have as members that wish to join them however only 2 representatives from each YAClub will be part of a city council appointed group serving as school representatives for their schools meets monthly the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month in Town Hall meetings in East Palo Alto.

Streets Alive!
- Saturday, April 29 , 2011 Mobile Skate Park will be @ the East Palo Alto Farmer’s Market from 2:00-4:00pm.
Cannot skate without a helmet!
- Sunday, May 1, 2011 Can participate in the City’s non-motorized Streets Alive! Float that is part of the Cometí Latino’s Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade, 10:30am to Noon. Must have a SIGNED parent permission slip and a wear a helmet if skateboarding, riding your bike or razor as part of our float.
